PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Deron Williams had a season-high 30 points and the Mavericks defeated the Trail Blazers 115-112 in overtime last night in Wesley Matthews’ first trip back to Portland since signing with Dallas as a free agent. Dirk Nowitzki added 28 points and Matthews finished with 18 points in his return as the Mavs snapped a four-game losing streak on the road.

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) – Tyrone Wallace scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half and California shook off a sloppy start to beat Seattle 66-52 last night. Jayley Brown added 11 points and seven rebounds while Jordan Mathews had 12 points for the Golden Bears (5-2), who bounced back after falling out of the Top 25 following back-to-back losses to San Diego State and Richmond last week.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Austin McBroom had 19 points and five assists and Eastern Washington beat San Francisco 81-77 last night. McBroom made five 3-pointers and finished on 6-of-12 shooting. Felix Von Hofe scored 20 points with four 3-pointers to lead Eastern Washington (4-3). Bogdan Bliznyuk had 17 points and Venky Jois chipped in 11.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Mariners and Baltimore are working to complete a trade that would send power hitter Mark Trumbo to the Orioles. The Mariners would get catcher/first baseman Steve Clevenger. The teams were reviewing medical records before finalizing the deal. Trumbo, who turns 30 next month, hit a combined 22 home runs with 64 RBIs while batting .262 for Seattle and Arizona last year.
