Claims 113 pound championship at weekend tourney
Viking wrestling standout Ricky Huff is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The sophomore grappler won his way through the 113 pound weight class at the Perry Burlison Wrestling Classic at Cascade High School Saturday, capturing the individual championship. Huff won all three of his matches by decision.
Honorable mention goes to Mapleton freshman Gabe Simington. He led scoring on the basketball court for the sailors with 19 points in two games last week. He also had three rebounds and three steals in the Sailors’ game against the Brookings-Harbor JV.
Oregon sinks Navy
On the court last night; Dillon Brooks scored 19 points to lead four Oregon players in double figures and the 24th ranked Ducks beat Navy 67-47 at the Pearl Harbor Invitational. The Midshipmen never led in the game. The Ducks will be at Boise State Saturday afternoon.
