Siuslaw wrestling standout Matthew Morales is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the week. The 106 pounder won the championship in his weight class at last week’s Nick Lutz Invitational in Florence, winning his first two matches by fall and then the championship match by a 3-1 decision.
Honorable Mention goes to Mapleton Freshman Alyssa Richards who averaged 13 rebounds, six points, three steals and four blocks per game in two Mountain West games last week.

Tripping leads to suspension
Oregon State has suspended Jarmal Reid at least four games for tripping a referee during Sunday’s loss at Utah. A written statement from Coach Wayne Tinkle announced the suspension. It also included an apology from Reid.
Tinkle said Reid’s conduct over the next two weeks will determine if additional discipline will be taken.
