Oregon and the Portland Pilots started off last night with the continuation of a game suspended April 13th… the Ducks quickly finished that game with a 6-1 win. Then the Ducks went on to demolish the Portland Pilots 15-4 last night in Eugene for their second non-league baseball victory of the night.
12 Siuslaw Vikings recognized by league softball and baseball coaches
All Far West League selections have been announced for softball and baseball. Eight Viking baseball players and four Siuslaw softball players made the list.
First team baseball for the Vikings… Infielder Kenneth Thrall and outfielder Caleb Paredes. Brogan Cornish and Gabe Simington made the second team for first base and pitcher. Four Vikings were given honorable mention… The battery of Michael Larson and Michael Mason, along with infielders Scott Gordon and Jared Brandt.
On the softball list… Siuslaw pitcher Heidi Jones was named to the second team. Her battery mate Nikki Launius (LONN-ee-uss); along with first base Claire Waggoner and infielder Taylor Dotson were given Honorable Mention.
