Hayward Field to host finals
Events get underway at Hayward Field today in Eugene as the 1A State Track and Field finals begin. Mapleton will have seven athletes competing in nine events. The 4A meet begins tomorrow.
Pool named new Viking football coach
Siuslaw High School officials acted quickly to fill the vacancy created when Football coach Tim Dodson announced his retirement last month. Principal Keri Tatum announced yesterday that Jamin Pool will take over the position.
He has taught physical education and health for the past two years at Siuslaw and was an assistant to Dodson this past season.
Pool is just the third person to hold the head coaching position at Siuslaw in the past 50-years.
He’ll make his debut on the sidelines September 2nd on the road against the Elmira Falcons.
