Streak close to matching historical high
Trent Giambrone hit a two-strike, one-out double into right field in the bottom of the ninth inning last night to drive home Kevonte Mitchell and the Emeralds walked off with a 3-2 victory over the Boise Hawks at home.
The Eugene third baseman had two of the Emeralds’ seven hits in the team’s 13th straight win. Their record of 43-15 is the best in all of Minor League Baseball right now. A win tonight would match the team’s best ever 14-game win streak accomplished in 2011.
Boise and Eugene meet this evening at PK Park for game two of a three game series.
