Trojans nab share of Far West lead
The Douglas Trojans stepped up and forced a tie at the top of the Far West volleyball standings with a four-set win over the Siuslaw Vikings in Winston.
The Vikings won the second set, 25-19, but lost the other three by slim margins. In other matches, South Umpqua beat Marshfield 3-1 and North Bend swept Brookings Harbor in three.
That leaves the Trojans and the Vikings tied at the top with North Bend a game behind in third… North Bend will be at Siuslaw tomorrow night for the final match of the season… Douglas will be at Marshfield.

In Mapleton, the Sailors wrapped up their season with a four-set loss to the Alsea Wolverines. Josi Hays led the way with 20 attacks at the net and coming away with six kills. She also added eight digs and three blocks. Alyssa West had four aces and ten kills as well.
