HOUSTON (AP) — James Harden had 26 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds for his third triple-double of the season to help the Houston Rockets beat the Portland Trail Blazers 126-109 last night. Harden completed the triple-double in the third quarter. The Rockets rebounded a night after scoring just three points in the final 6 minutes in a 105-103 loss in Oklahoma City. C.J. McCollum led Portland with 26 points.
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Chris Boucher had 25 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 4 Oregon to its 27th consecutive home victory, 76-54 over Valparaiso last night. Jordan Bell added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Ducks (2-1), who took control early in the second half with an 11-4 run fueled by Bell’s eight points to open a 52-38 lead. AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Tevin Mack scored 19 points and No. 23 Texas rolled to an easy 85-52 victory over Eastern Washington last night. Texas had five players score in double figures as the Longhorns’ entirely new starting lineup has started smoothing out the rough edges in their 3-0 start to the season. Freshman Andrew Jones scored 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting. He had a big first half, making all four of his shots for 12 points in just 9e minutes on the court.
SEATTLE (AP) — Kelsey Plum scored 32 points, moving into third-place on the Pac-12’s all-time scoring list, and No. 17 Washington advanced to the finals of the Preseason WNIT with a 79-66 win over No. 25 Missouri last night. Plum scored 18 points in the first half, but it was a decisive third quarter that allowed Washington (3-0) to pull away. The Huskies outscored Missouri 24-15 in the third quarter and led by as many as 22 in the fourth.
