TORONTO (AP) — Bo Levi Mitchell and the Calgary Stampeders led a West Division sweep at the CFL awards banquet Thursday night. Mitchell was selected the league’s outstanding player. The former Eastern Washington star led Calgary to a 15-1-1 record in his 17 starts — he didn’t play in the season-ending loss to Montreal. The Stampeders will face Ottawa in the Grey Cup on Sunday.

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — Freshman sensation Lonzo Ball had 18 points and 11 assists for his second career double-double, and Number 14 UCLA romped past Portland 99-77 on Thursday night in the first round of the Wooden Legacy. Jazz Johnson scored 25 points for the Pilots, who trailed 45-37 at halftime in Fullerton, California.

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) — Katelynn Flaherty made four 3-pointers and scored 22 points, Siera Thompson added five 3s and 21 points, and Michigan beat Number 25 Gonzaga 78-66 in the Paradise Jam Thursday night. Jill Barta made 9 of 13 shots, hit all eight of her free-throw attempts and finished with a season high 27 points for Gonzaga. Emma Stach added 11 points and eight rebounds.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Jonathan Williams and Zach Collins led a balanced offense with 13 points apiece, helping Number 11 Gonzaga pull away to an 82-62 victory over Quinnipiac in the first round of the AdvoCare Invitational at Disney World Thursday night. Gonzaga used a 12-2 spurt to open a 37-25 lead late in the first half.
