Prep basketball:
The Mapleton Sailors were on the court over the weekend… Friday, the boys fell to Pacific High School 66-41; then the next afternoon they lost to the Brookings JV 60-38. The Sailor girls are still looking for that first win of the season. They lost to Pacific 50-13, then the Brookings JV 47-9.
On the college court…
Oregon State fell to Long Beach State Friday night, 71-67 to open the Dam City Classic at Portland’s Moda Center. Yesterday afternoon, the Beavers sustained their fifth straight loss, this one 53-45 to the Portland Pilots. Kent State comes calling in Corvallis Wednesday night.
Saturday night in Eugene, the Oregon Ducks ran away from the Rebels of UNLV 83-63. Oregon will host Fresno State tomorrow night in their final non-league game of the season.
On the schedule
Viking basketball is on the court tonight at Sweet Home High School. The girls tip off at 5:30.. the boys right after. Airtime on KCST is at 5:15.
