WASHINGTON (AP) — WASHINGTON (AP) — Bradley Beal scored 25 points and John Wall had 24 as the Washington Wizards defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 120-101 yesterday. The Wizards, who rely less on the 3-pointer than almost any NBA team, were 13 of 23 from beyond the arc in their 12th consecutive home victory. The 3-pointer-heavy Trail Blazers shot 8 of 26 on 3-point attempts.

CHENEY, Wash. (AP) — Eastern Washington coach Beau Baldwin is leaving the FCS powerhouse to become the offensive coordinator at California under new coach Justin Wilcox. Baldwin announced his decision yesterday, leaving the school where he won five Big Sky Conference titles, reached the FCS semifinals four times and won a national championship in 2010.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Mike Green made 6 of 9 3-pointers and had 26 points and nine rebounds to help Northern Arizona win its first home game of the season with an 83-76 victory over Portland State last night. Portland State swung it around the 3-point arc and Deontae North sank a corner 3-pointer to pull to 76-74. After a trap forced a NAU turnover, De’Sean Parsons tied it at 76-all on a putback.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said on his radio show yesterday that cornerback Richard Sherman played the second half of the season with an MCL injury in his knee. Carroll told KIRO-AM that Sherman’s injury was significant and it was “stressful” for Sherman to play with the injury.
