Athlete of the Week
Siuslaw basketball standout Brittany Long is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The senior guard came off the bench to score eight points and sparked the Lady Vikings to a 47-31 win over the South Umpqua lancers. Long had five assists, five rebounds and four steals as Siuslaw held South Umpqua to just seven points in the second half.
Honorable mention goes to Alyssa Richards who hit the game winning shot with 21 seconds left in last week’s overtime victory over the Junction City Tigers.

The Vikings will be in Coos Bay for Far West League basketball against the Marshfield Pirates. The girls tip off at six, the boys right after. The pregame show on KCST is at 5:45. South Umpqua is at North Bend; Brookings-Harbor is at Douglas.
