Viking wrestlers on to state meet

Four Siuslaw Vikings will square off on the mats Friday at the OSAA 4A State wrestling tournament.  One of those will be Junior Richard Huff who finished sixth at state last year at 113 pounds.  This year, he’s going into the tournament as the top seed in his weight class.  Coach Neil Wartnik says Huff has had an outstanding season.

Neil Wartnik – “What Richard has done this year has been wonderful.  And, you know, if he can go in and relax and do what he does, it’s going to be exciting I think.  You know, he’s a great kid.”

Siuslaw has another wrestler with a high seed… 285 pound senior Kainan Lane is going in fifth ranked.  Two others are unseeded going into the tournament.  Fellow senior Nick Steinman at 170 pounds and sophomore 150 pounder Riley Jennings.
