Thompson Honored
Oregon State starting pitcher and Florence native, Jake Thompson has been named National Pitcher of the Month for the month of April by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Thompson, a red-shirt junior at OSU went 4-0 for the month of April with a 0.71 Earned Run Average with 35 Strike outs over 38 innings of play. Thompson is currently 10-0 after yesterdays win over California.
Vikings Struggle
The Viking boys traveled to North Bend yesterday. It was a tough outing for the Vikings falling 12 to 3. the Vikings will finish out the season at home this Wednesday afternoon against North Bend. It will be a double header with the first game beginning at 3 and pregame at 2:45 on KCST
Viking girls were at home against North Bend. Falling 14 -4. They are scheduled for a double header today at 3 pm at home versus the Bruins of Brookings Harbor.
This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the beavers and ducks are scheduled for their civil war battle at PK park in Eugene. Thursday’s game is scheduled for 6 pm with a 5:30 pregame on KCFM.
