Oregon Dunes Triathlete Winner
This weekend’s Oregon Dunes Triathlon saw the best of the west, and even further, but the winner, Evan Pardi, a Graduate of the University of Oregon now resides in Arizona. And he said it was quite the shock after training in the heat of the desert.
“Going from a hundred…hundred and four..hundred three degree heat to you know 58 degree water was a little unsettling.”
Pardi says that in the last decade the sport has really exploded and the fact that it was born in America:
“The participation and fervor in this country is huge, I mean there are really fast dudes around the world but there
is something uniquely competitive about the Americans.”
He says in the U.S. alone over a million people have participated in the sport. He says his next goal is in Vancouver where the Pro purse is 25 thousand dollars!
