Emeralds Defense Fails

The Eugene Emeralds fought hard against the Hops last night as the two teams slugged it out.  Eugene went ahead early and had a 5-1 lead in the 5^th inning when the Hops answered back in the bottom of the 5^th and scored 4 to tie it up.  Both teams remained scoreless until the bottom of the 9^th when a passed ball allowed the winning run for the Hops.  The series continues this evening at 7:05 in Hillsboro.
