Lady Vikings Excel in Sisters Invitational
This past Saturday at the Sisters Invitational it was a pair of wins for the Far west league Vikings. Siuslaw met Newport in the first match taking them 25-16 and 25-16. And it was a pair of sisters that led the way in Kills in that match. Mia Collins led with 6 and Emma Collins followed it up with 4.
In their second match, against Seaside, the Viking girls topped the matches 25-19 and 25-17. This time it was Emma Collins who led in Kills with 4 and Maci Wells had 11 digs in the win.

2nd Place Finish for Viking Boys XC/Girls Have Strong Showing
Saturday’s Rock and River Cross Country meet at Elijah Bristow state park in Pleasant Hill saw Sophomore Brendon Jenson finish fourth overall in the 5000 meter event with a time of 17.35.9 and Isaac Griffes came in 8th at 17.42.8 as the Viking boys finished a strong Second just behind Philomath. In the girls 5000 Hannah Rannow finished 6th with a time of 21.00.7 and Anne Wartnik finished9th at a time of 21.20.9. The lady Vikings finished a strong 4th out of 10 participating teams.
Ducks Get Overheated in the Desert
The Oregon Ducks fought from behind in the valley of the sun Saturday evening, taking the lead late in the fourth quarter but the Sun Devils of Arizona came back and took the lead. The Ducks had 2 possessions in the last 2 minutes and 39 seconds to try to regain the lead but came up short both times on missed 4th down plays. The Sun Devils finished the evening 37-35 over the ducks.
