Athlete Of The Week
Mapleton Senior Dominic Wells is this week’s Athlete of the week! Dominic excelled on both sides of the ball in last Friday’s game against North Douglas. Rushing for 162 yards on 16 carries, scoring 2 touchdowns and throwing for another. The 6’6” 200 pounder also had 18 tackles and 2 sacks. Coach Jeff Greene said it was the best performance he had seen from an individual in a long time.
Honorable mention also goes to a Mapleton footballer. Junior Evan Moso led rushing for the sailors with 290 yards on 16 carries with 6 tackles and one interception on defense.
Volleyball Tonight
Far West League Volleyball this evening’s pits the Lady Viks against the Bruins as Brookings Harbor travels north for tonight’s action. Games at Siuslaw High School get underway at 6:30… while over in the Mountain West League the Sailor girls are on the road to take on Alsea.
