Reynolds Makes Viking Varsity Debut
His first outing as head coach wasn’t a W, but Greg Reynolds says he is happy with the effort that the Viking Girls put on the court. It was a tough few minutes at the start of the game as the Bulldogs pulled out with a 10 point lead but as the game went along, Reynolds says they settled in and kept it close. He says the girls are very adept to adjusting.
“I think our girls do a good job at that. Of listening and when you explain something new to them on the sideline like ‘hey, we’re gonna do this’ they go out there and they try to do it.”
Reynolds says he will be spending time with video from some of his upcoming matches and that his focus for the girls will be
“We’ll talk about how good their effort was, we’ll talk about um we’ve got to do a little bit better on the boards, we got out rebounded a little bit and not panicking when we get pressured.
The Bulldogs took the game 42-30.
The Siuslaw Vikings boys also opened their basketball season last night against the Creswell Bulldogs. It was a close game but in the end the Bulldogs had a little more in the tank than the Vikings. 52-41 was the final score. Seniors Kyle King and Jake Hickson led scoring for the Viks with 9 points each.
