Ducks Drown Seattle
The Oregon Ducks treated the visiting Seattle Lions to a hitting clinic in Eugene yesterday. The Ducks began with a 3 run first inning and kept the momentum going in the second scoring another 10 runs and added a bonus run in the 7th for a 14 to nothing victory. 6 pitchers took the mound for the Ducks with the win going to Cullen Kafka with 3 innings pitched. It is Kafka’s first win on the season.
Ionescu PAC 12 Player of the Year
Sophomore Sabrina Ionescu for the Oregon Ducks was named PAC 12 Player of the year for her efforts on the hardwoods. Ionescu followed up last year’s Freshman of the Year honors. She averaged 19.2 points a game this season with 7.8 assists. She became only the third player in Duck history to hit the 1000 point mark as a sophomore. Ionescus teammate Satou Sabally was named PAC 12 Freshman of the Year. The women’s PAC 12 Tournament begins this Friday.
