Vikings Play First Pre-Season Game
It was a tough second inning for the Siuslaw Vikings yesterday as the baseball season kicked off at Jigg’s Dodson field. The visiting Billies of Pleasant Hill chalked up 6 runs against Pitcher Gabe Simington but the team settled in for the remainder of the game. Coach Tom Shinn said he saw a lot of growth over the course of the game. The Billies did add two more runs, but the Vikings countered with two of their own in the bottom of the 6th. final score was 8 – 2 Pleasant Hill.
Ducks Scheduled to Meet Marquette in NIT
Marquette defeated Harvard in the NIT tournament last night 67-60. That means they will face the Oregon Ducks for the next round. The game will be this Sunday and will tip off at 1:30. Pre game on KCST will begin at 1pm. Marquette is 20 and 13 overall. They play in the Big East Conference.
