Two Reign at OSAA 4A Championship
Over the weekend it was the OSAA 4A State Track and Field Championships in Eugene. Sophomore Ryan Rendon-Padilla is the State Champion in the javelin after a personal record toss of 55.36 meters. Sophomore Hannah Rannow was also crowned state champion in the 800 meters with a personal record time of 2:18.54. other notables from the event was Freshman Gracie Freudenthal who finished Sixth in the 300 meter hurdles and senior Trent Reavis after a short season due to injury took fourth place in the shot put.
Far West League Baseball and Softball All League Results
Also over the weekend the Far West League Baseball and Softball All league results came in and for the boys Gabe Simington and Tanner Wilson garnered 2nd team honors with Jared Northrop, Evan Teter and Caleb Hennessee receiving honorable mentions. For the ladies, Nina Aaron and Katlin Meskimen were named second team and honorable mention went to Alexis Smith, Abby Coday, and Ariel Rosinbaum.
Ducks and Beavers in Tinsel Town
The Oregon Ducks dropped the series with UCLA over the weekend with 12-4, 15-1 and a 10-2 loss to the bruins in Los Angeles. While the OSU Beavers across town took the series from the USC Trojans but were blanked in the final game 8-0. On Friday the Beavers won 4-0 and Saturday’s 8-1 win it was stellar pitching from Bryce Fehmel and some good hitting from Michael Gretler and Nick Madrigal.
The Beavers host UCLA to Finish off the regular season and the Ducks host the visiting Wildcats of Arizona. Both matchups begin Thursday.
