Emeralds Drop Series to Hops
The Eugene Emeralds struck early last night in Salem as they took a two nothing lead in the bottom of the first inning. The Hillsboro Hops battled back in the top of the 5th to take a 3-2 lead and added a fourth run in the seventh. The Ems bats struggled as they only managed 4 hits on the evening. Ryan Williams gets the loss on the mound for the Ems. He pitched 5 innings and gave up a solo homerun to Hops first baseman Francis Martinez that started the scoring for the Hops. The Ems take the night off and head to Spokane on Wednesday for a 5 game series.
