Ems Get Out in Front
Three explosive innings last night put the Spokane Indians on their heels as the Eugene Emeralds blasted out of the gate in last night’s game. A two run shot in the first inning by 3rd baseman Grant Fennel started it for the Ems and in the second a triple by Jake Slaughter and a sacrifice fly Levi Jordan brought in 2 more runs. The Indians answered back with 2 runs in the top of the third but the Ems were right back at it in the bottom of the inning with three more runs on a succession of hits. The Ems added one more in the 6th with 15 hits on the night as they outscored the Indians 8-3.
Game three of the series will be this evening at PK Park. First pitch is at 7:05.
Ducks Conditioning Builds Team
Oregon’s new head coach Mario Cristobal met with the media yesterday and said a summer of strength conditioning has been a successful one as they head into camp today. Quarterback Justin Herbert had bulked up to 240 pounds and Cristobal says the conditioning for all the players this summer was more about strength and flexibility than preparing that summer beach body. But more than body building, Cristobal says the summer has been about team building. He says they all have high hopes for the season.
