Ems Pitching Holds
It was a slow moving game last night at PK Park as the Eugene Emeralds finished up its 3 game series with the Hillsboro Hops, but with 6 hits and two runs for the Ems it was all they needed to get by Hillsboro. Defense dominated the game along with good pitching from the Ems. Right hander Paul Richan went 4 innings without allowing a hit and 5 strikeouts. The hops managed to score a run on middle reliever Steven Ridings, and closer Mitch Stophel struck out three for the save.
Retro Benny Returns
Retro Benny is back. The Oregon State Beavers are planning a Beaver decal for the October 20th homecoming game along with a specially designed uniform. Retro Benny originally appeared on the Beavers helmets in 1973.
Benny Beaver (Retro Benny) was an official active mark of OSU’s intercollegiate sport teams from 1951-98.
