Volleyball Highlights
Both Mapleton and Siuslaw were on the courts last night. It was a mixed bag for the Vikings as they met first with Bandon. It was a close first set with the Vikings coming out on top 26-24. The Vikings then swept Bandon taking the following sets 25-12 and 25-18. Next up the Vikings met with Douglas dropping the first two sets 22-25 and 9-25 before going on the attack and taking the third set from the Trojans 25-17. The Vikings kept is close in the fourth set, but Douglas held tough taking the Vikings down 25-22
Next up for the Vikings is a non-league match at home with Pleasant Hill
Mapleton hosted Siletz valley last night. The Sailors defeated the Warriors 3-1. 25-17, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-21. Tomorrow night the Sailors will host McKenzie at 7pm
Ems Host Playoff Game
The Emeralds will host Game 1 of the 1st round Northwest League Playoffs on this evening, taking on the Hillsboro Hops for the third consecutive series in three years. Hillsboro will host Games 2 and 3 of the best-of-3 series if necessary at Ron Tonkin Field in Hillsboro on Thursday and Friday.
