Hard Fought Loss for Vikings
Siuslaw Volleyball Coach Jonathan Hornung said last night’s home stand against Junction city was hard fought, but in the end they couldn’t close the deal. The Lady Vikings fell in straight sets 17-25, 25-27, 21-25.
“Hayden Muller played great she had 16 digs in the back row, and Mak had 14 kills so both of them played really well, we showed some flashes of brilliance but ultimately we couldn’t put away the set (undeterminable phrase).”
The Vikings meet Junction City again this weekend in Junction City. Hornung hopes to make some changes and be more competitive. The Junction City tournament gets under way at noon for the Vikings.
Wolverines Rip Lady Sailors
The Mapleton Lady Sailors fell on the road last night to Alsea in three straight sets. 25-2, 25-10, and 25-9. The Wolverines proved a touch opponent for the sailors. They have a chance for a rematch on October 4th when they host Alsea.
