Vikings/Lions
In volleyball action last night the Siuslaw Vikings traveled to Cottage Grove. The league match would prove a tough one for the Vikings. The first set the Vikings stayed close but couldn’t match the intensity of the Lions falling 25-20. Coach Jonathan Hornung said the girls played tough with a lot of good defense and no errors.
“Our defense was solid, we just couldn’t put balls away at the net, they’re a big team and really took it to us hitting and blocking.” Said Coach Hornung
Cottage Grove dominated the rest of the match taking the following sets 25-16 and 25-12.
The Vikings will take on Marist Catholic at home tomorrow night. Viks are 0-6 in league play.
Mapleton has been off the court since Saturday. They return tomorrow evening to host Alsea at home, game time 6:30.
This Friday Viking football will be at home hosting Santiam Christian. And Mapleton will host Lowell.
