Siuslaw Viking senior Riley Jennings wrestled his way into the Athlete of the Week spot. Coach Neil Wartnik said Riley looked very good in the early matches of the Devon Dawson Memorial Wrestling Tournament on Friday at Harrisburg, making it to the championship round in the 170 pound class. His second place finish helped Siuslaw to a fourth place finish out of 20 teams.
Honorable mention goes to sophomore Brady Libby who also made it to the championship round in Friday’s tournament in the 126 pound class.
OSU Names 22 to Academic First Team
Timmy Hernandez has been named to the Pac-12 Conference All-Academic First Team as the league named its 2018 selections on Monday. Hernandez highlights a list of a school-record 22 selections from Oregon State, which ranks third amongst Pac-12 squads. Additionally, 21 Beavers were named honorable mention.
