Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Mapleton sophomore JJ Neece as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Last week at Mapleton’s Track Meet Neece recorded 3 first place finishes in the 300 meter hurdles, the High jump and the triple jump.
Honorable mention goes to Siuslaw senior Naomi Shoji for her first place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 1:05.01
Sky-Em Season Begins
The Siuslaw Vikings are scheduled for Sky-Em league baseball and softball opening games today against the Marist Spartans. The Boys game will air on KCST from Marist High School beginning with a pregame at 4:45, first pitch at 5 o’clock.
The Lady Viks and Spartans are scheduled to open play this afternoon in Eugene. First pitch at 5 o’clock at Marist High School. Both games are field conditions and weather permitting.
Track and Field
Skyem track and field action this afternoon has Siuslaw hosting a JV Meet. Field events get underway at 3:30, track at 4 o’clock.
Ducks and Beavers Meet in Corvallis
Pac Twelve baseball this afternoon has the Oregon Ducks facing the Oregon State Beavers at 5:30 at Coleman Field in Corvallis. Pregame on KCFM is at 5 o’clock.
