Emeralds Drop Another

The Eugene Emeralds came close to cutting in to the lead that the first place Salem-Kaiser Volcanoes have in the Northwest League South Division.  The Ems took a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the 9th inning last night in Kaiser. The Volcanoes fought back in the bottom of the ninth scoring one run to tie the game and then with one runner in scoring position catcher, Richard Genoves hit a sacrifice fly to score first baseman Sean Roby to end the game.  Eugene is now 10 and 16 on the season.  Tonight’s game against the Volcanoes begins at 6:35 as Salem-Kaiser begins their cancer awareness weekend at Volcano Stadium.
