Rannow Advances
Florence golfer Bob Rannow is in contention for a spot in the Boeing Classic. Rannow was one of only five golfers that shot below par. Rannow shot a 3-under 68 to win a pre-qualifier at High Cedars Golf Club. Rannow’s next outing will be Tuesday in the Greater Seattle Boeing Classic qualifier. Low scores will advance to the Champions Tour event, August 23-25th.
Ems Over Volcanoes
The Eugene Emeralds are celebrating back to back wins at PK Park. Last night the Ems hosted the Salem-Kaiser Volcanoes for the second of three games at home. The Ems exploded with a 4 run second inning that set the Volcanoes on their heals. Left fielder Jacob Olson combined with DH Jake Washer for a couple of RBI doubles in the inning. Eugene put four pitchers on the mound for a combined 15 strike-outs. The Ems won out 5-3. Game 3 is tonight at 7:05.
