Neece – Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News, and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior Mapleton Sailor JJ Neece as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Neece ran for 348 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns and was 6 for 9 throwing with 3 touchdowns and 2 2-point conversions as the Sailors start the season 3-0
Thornton – Honorable Mention
Honorable Mention goes to Siuslaw Viking sophomore Braydon Thornton who caught three touchdown passes in Friday’s win over the Newport Cubs.
Siuslaw Volleyball
Nonleague volleyball this afternoon has Siuslaw taking on visiting Marist Catholic. The first games get underway at 6:30 at Siuslaw High School.
Mapleton Volleyball
Mapleton is at Crow High School taking on Oak Hill in the first of two Mountain West League games. Service at the net for game one is at 5:30, the sailor girls will take on the Crow Cougars at 7 o’clock.
