Lane County To Reopen their Campground – Thursday, May 21st 2020

Reservations can now be made for:

  • Archie Knowles Campground (Mapleton)
  • Armitage Campground (Eugene)
  • Baker Bay Campground (Dorena)
  • Harbor Vista Campground (Florence)
  • Richardson Campground (Junction City)
  • All five of the campgrounds will have certain restrictions and closures in common, including: showers will remain closed; group campsites will remain closed; common areas such as playgrounds, pavilions, group picnic areas, shelters and sports courts will remain closed.

The CDC now recommends wearing a cloth mask in situations where social distancing is not practical. Click this link:  for CDC tips and patterns for making cloth mask.  

Cloth mask need to be sanitized or laundered daily, the CDC recommends several methods

  • Daily washing with detergent in hot water by hand or by machine
  • Disinfect by soaking them for 5 minutes in a solution of 2 tablespoons of bleach per quart of water
  • Steam over boiling water
  • Microwave in a 600watt oven for a minimum 2 minutes  (cloth mask only)

Remember that those with compromised health issues and the elderly are the most vulnerable to Covid-19 or any virus.  Most who contract the Corona virus symptoms are mild or moderate, including fever and dry cough.

      • Wash your hands often with soap and water or a 60% alcohol sanitizer
      • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
      • Avoid contact with sick people and stay home if you’re sick.
      • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.

 


Cancellations and Postponements:

Peace Harbor Hospital –  visitors will not be allowed within the medical center until further notice, with a few specific exemptions,

Siuslaw School District

  • All schooling has moved to remote learning until end of the year
  • All Siuslaw Sporting Events are cancelled

Mapleton School District has cancelled all classes and sporting events and moved to remote learning.
