The cancellation of spring sports has put a question mark on not just the futures of senior athletes that will not get the chance to participate in baseball and track and field, but it will also have an impact on fall sports. Spring is traditionally a time for conditioning for high school football and for a chance for coaches to get a look at returning students and begin organizing a team. With the coronavirus putting a hold on all group activities it is not clear yet if fall sports will begin on time. This also affects cross country athletes although a lot of their training is individualized and can be done observing social distancing orders currently in place, but the comradery built around the team is what is suffering. The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) executive board will be meeting in the next several weeks to discuss summer activities and fall sports. Schools are currently prohibited from organizing or directing workouts or practices
