OSU Athletic Executives Donate Back Salary
Athletic Director and Vice President at Oregon State University Scott Barnes delivered a letter to the Beaver Nation last week addressing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. In his letter he outlined some of the measures the college will take… as the future of when sporting activities can resume is uncertain. Barnes along with the Beavers Head Football Coach Jonathan Smith and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Wayne Tinkle will donate back to the university 7% of their salaries and other athletic executives will donate 5%. He also announced a freeze for all non-essential items and a selective pause on new hires will be in place until further notice. Barnes noted the cancellation of spring activities have had a significant impact on revenue for OSU.
