Along with the unsure future of Fall sports at Oregon universities, Oregon State University announced that it will be dealing with a severely decreased budget for the upcoming school year which will effect a myriad of operations on campus. One of the cuts will be to facility upgrades. The sports programs were not specifically mentioned in the university’s release, but cuts to salaries, services and supplies will have an indirect effect. Some staff will also be taking a temporary salary cut and there is a hiring freeze on open positions. There will also likely be furloughs, layoffs and options for leave-without-pay in lieu of some layoffs. Football workouts for OSU and U of O are possible beginning on the 15th of this month, but there has been no firm plan announced to the public.
