Siuslaw Athletic Director Chris Johnson says that while no confirmations have been made as to the start of training for fall sports, the coaching staffs are planning with the hopes that they will be able to begin in person workouts sometime in the month of July.
“As things stand now we think coaches and kids can get back together again which is something all the coaches are looking forward to and I’m sure the kids too.”
Johnson also mentioned the possibility of switching the fall and spring sports seasons, a plan that he is not particularly thrilled about.
“Spring sports in the fall causes a lot of problems with the weather. Obviously trying to play baseball in November, softball in November, for state playoffs state championships with the weather could be crazy.
Johnson says it is a wait an see situation for now, something he say people are now all too familiar with.
