Postponed Not Cancelled
The Eugene Emeralds are currently listing their missed games on the 2020 short season schedule as postponed and have not yet made the decision to consider the season cancelled. There is no news on when or how the season will begin as major league teams are still trying to work out an agreement on their season. The MILB Emeralds have missed the first 5 games of the season and have listed tonight’s game as postponed.
No Update From OSAA
The Oregon School Activities Association has not yet made any decisions on Fall sports. The OSAA reports that they are waiting for guidance from the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Department of Education and will inform schools of any updates as soon as they have the information available. OSAA is still considering the option of flipping the sports schedule allowing for spring athletics to be played in the fall and football to play in the spring, an option that is not a popular one here in Florence according to Siuslaw Athletic Director Chris Johnson.
