Practice Begins
Practice for the Siuslaw Viking Football team begins today. In spite of recent changes in the guidelines coaches and football staff feel confident that they can maintain safety. Practices will mainly consist of strength and conditioning and some football fundamentals. A waiver is being distributed that include some COVID-19 verbiage. The waiver states the School District cannot completely mitigate the transfer of communicable diseases, like VOCID-19, and participation in sports can include possible exposure, illness, injury or death.
Ducks Still Recruiting
Despite the confirmation of a fall football schedule, the Oregon Ducks continue to sign high profile recruits to their roster. The latest is a 4 star recruit from Mississippi. Isaiah Brevard is a 6 foot 4 inch 200 pound receiver who is ranked the 114th overall recruit in the nation. The Ducks have secured 16 commitments for the new season.
