OSAA Meets Monday
There is no new information coming out regarding the beginning of the Athletic seasons for High School sports. There will be a meeting of the OSAA on Monday to update the most current information available to schools based on the current status of the coronavirus pandemic. Siuslaw Athletic Director, Chris Johnson will be a guest on Our Town next week to lay out the current situation, but he was quick to mention that it may be yet another week before solid plans are known. Voluntary workouts are cancelled for football after new rules came down from the governor’s office. Out of an abundance of caution the coaching staff decided to wait until more direction comes down regarding safe practices. The season was initially slated to begin in early September, but if the season happens at all, it will not begin until at least the 23rd of September.
