It will take some wrangling and some luck, but the Pac-12 is hopeful that it will be able to experience both as they look towards Halloween for the start of competition on the gridiron. Universities in Oregon and California will have to get approval from university presidents and both state governments would have to relax some of the restrictions in place. According to Pac-12 medical advisors teams will need about 6 weeks in order to prepare for the season which includes 4 weeks prior to opening day of full pad workouts. Those workouts would be full contact and not be allowed to begin until daily antigen tests are available which is not expected until the end of September. If things move along smoothly it would allow the first game to be played on October 31, but a secondary date of November 7 is also possible.
