No Expanded Playoff Picture
Pac-12 commission president Larry Scott had hoped that his suggestion to increase the 2020 college football playoff schedule to 8 teams might be well received, but the heads of the College Football playoff committee said that would not happen. Scott made the suggestion during a conference call saying the inclusion of 4 more teams might help recoup some of the money lost from postponing the season. The interchange between individuals on the call was not contentious according to sources. The Pac-12 is playing the fewest games among the power 5 conferences with 7 games scheduled while the other conferences are playing 10. The Pac-12 is also getting a much later start on November 6 which further limits team’s exposure when it comes to making playoff decisions.
