Duck – Washington Game Cancelled
The University of Washington’s covid-19 rate among its football program has forced the cancellation of Saturday’s game against the Oregon Ducks. This leaves the schedule up in the air for next week’s pac-12 championship. The Ducks are 3-2 on the season. All teams in the conference that are available to play will participate next week. The Championship is scheduled for Friday the 18th with all other teams playing on Saturday. UO director of athletics Rob Mullens said the schools thoughts were with the Washington athletes that have been impacted by the coronavirus, but then added that they were disappointed for the Oregon football student athletes who have “done everything right and have been fully committed to all safety protocols from the start.”
Beavers Fall to Pilots
Last night the Portland Pilots eeked out a win in overtime against the Oregon State Beavers. the pilots led at halftime 36-29. The Beavers came out strong in the second half making up the deficit and the teams went back and forth sending it into overtime. Ethan Thompson scored 31 for the Beavers but it wasn’t enough. Pilots win 87-86.
Upcoming Schedules
The Oregon basketball team is still scheduled to take a trip to Washington for a game tomorrow evening against the Huskies. That game will air on KCST beginning at 4:30
On the gridiron the Beavers host Stanford tomorrow with the pregame on KCFM beginning at 6:30.
The Ducks and Beavers women’s teams meet Sunday in Corvallis, tip off at 4 pm.
