Sports Schedule
The Siuslaw Vikings will take on Cottage Grove in double header action this afternoon in Florence. The 1 and 5 Vikings have already handed the Lions a loss at the start of the season and hope to have success again today. Pregame on KCST will begin at 2:45.
Viking Softball will also be hosting Cottage Grove today with games beginning at 3.
Viking Track and Field will also be hosting events today at the Sky-EM League Showcase. Events begin at 4 pm.
The Oregon State Beavers will take on the UCLA Bruins this weekend with the first game this evening beginning on KCFM at 6:30. Game two will air tomorrow at 5:30 and Sunday’s game will air at 11:30.
The Oregon Ducks have a three game series against the Washington State Cougars beginning this evening. Gametime at 6:05. Saturday’s game starts at 2:05 and Sunday’s game at 12:05.
Mapleton Track and Field Results
Mapleton’s JJ Neece placed third in the 100 meters on Wednesday at the 3A MVC at Pleasant Hill. Neece finished the race in 11.84 a season record for the senior. Junior Joseph Shepard finished second in the 1500 meter with a personal record time of 4:46.68.
For the girls Opal Burress set personal records in the 1500 and the 800 meter races and junior Brier Shird finished third in the 800 with a time of 2:59.45 a season record for her. Emily Neece was in the top 5 in the Shot put and the Discus.
