Vikings Shock Marshfield
The Siuslaw Vikings showed their all at Marshfield last night at home staying close to the Pirates in the first half with only a four point deficit. In the second half the team worked hard on defense and moving the ball around on offense according to Head Coach Dylan Perry. Avery Hart had 10 points and performed well down low. Brody Terry and Braydon Thornton each had 17 points in the Viking stunning win 51-47. Siuslaw is back on the court tomorrow aginst Elmira with a 1:15 pregame on KCST.
The Viking girls were outgunned by Marshfield 45-13. Brea Blankenship had 9 points for Siuslaw.
Mapleton Decimates Crow
The Mapleton Sailors faced Crow last night and a late cancellation of the girls game allowed for one of the girls players to move to the boys team. Opal Burrus scored a basket in the boys win. AJ Moso led the team with 21 and JJ Neece added 20. Jeremy Bender also had 8 points on the night. The Sailors improve their record to 3-2 and will face Alsea next Thursday. Final 62-9
Stanford Over Beavers 1-0
There were only 7 total hits in the Beaver’s first game against Stanford resulting in only one run, unfortunately for the Beavers the run was by Stanford. Game two begins tonight at 5:30 on KCFM. The Oregon Ducks pulled within one game of the league leading Arizona Wildcats with an 11-5 win over cal last night. Arizona is finishing off their season with a non-league series and are 21-9 in Pac-12 play while the Ducks are 19-9. The Ducks are back on the field this evening at 6 pm.
