Lady Vikings Wrestle
The Lady Vikings were on the mat on Friday. Junior Hayden Muller advanced to state competitions by taking a third place finish at the OSAA Girls South Regional held in Cottage Grove. Freshman Madison Petterson was the only other Viking to compete in the tournament and went 1-2 on the day.
Overton All-State Recognition
Siuslaw Viking Bailey Overton was awarded First Team All State for softball. Coach Sean O’mara released the results of the coaches voting on Friday afternoon. Overton hit .489 for the season which included a four homer back to back game. She finished with 8 homers on the season.
Viking Finish Season in North Bend
The Siuslaw Vikings finished up their season on the court on Friday in North Bend. It was not certain if the games would be played after the North Bend Campus had to be shut down during the active shooter situation, but the campus was reopenend. Both the boys and the girls teams suffered a loss. North Bend defeated the Siuslaw boys 54-46 and the girls lost 51-25.
Maplton Drops to Alsea
The Mapleton boys were also on the court on Saturday and were defeated by Alsea in a close match 49-43.
