Ems Go 1-2 Over the Weekend
The Eugene emeralds dropped two close games on Friday and Saturday against the Hillsboro Hops losing 10-9 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday. Sunday was a different story for the Ems. The Hops led the game 5-3 through 7 ½ innings the Ems scored one in the bottom of the Eighth. After holding the Hops scoreless in the top of the ninth the Ems managed to get two runners on base and in scoring position. Tyler Fitzgerald who went 0-4 on the night came up to the plate and hit a ground rule double that scored the two men on ending the game 6-5 for the Ems. The Ems managed to fall back another game in the High A West League standings after their two losses. They are 6.5 games back from the league leading Aquasox.
