Sailors Fall in 5
The Mapleton Sailors took Eddyville to 5 sets in Volleyball last night. 25-17, 18-25, 27-25, 14-25 and 12-15. The Sailors ultimately lost the hard fought battle according to Coach Molly Dooley. Sophomore Tanae Flansberg had 5 aces and 3 kills, senior Brier Shird had 2 aces and 4 kills and senior Opal Burress had 7 aces and 2 kills.
Ems Back in First Place
The Eugene Emeralds are a half game up on the Aquasox after defeating the Hillsboro Hops on the road last night. That combined with an Aquasox loss put the Ems on top. The Ems were behind 5-3 until the top of the 9th inning when the Ems rallied to drive in 3 runs including a 2 run homer to tie the game. A line drive double from the Ems Logan Wyatt drove in the go ahead run. The Ems struck out 2 in the bottom of the ninth and a pop fly foul ended the game 6-5 Ems.
