Vikings Score Game for Friday
The Siuslaw Viking have scored a home game to replace the game cancelled after Brookings Harbor cancelled its entire football program. The Siuslaw Viking will host North Valley this Friday evening at Hans Peterson Field. North Valley is a 4A team in the Special district 5. KCST will cover the game live.
Rannow Wins Golf Championship
Bob Rannow has won the PNW Senior PGA Championship. Rannow won the contest by one stroke over tony Robydek at Ranier Golf and Country Club last week. Rannow shot a par 72 for the opening round and was one under for the second round.
Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio sports congratulate Viking Volleyball junior Desi Tupua. Coach Keri Blake says Desi is a strong, consistent player who had 2 serving aces and 17 perfect passes with zero passing errors in their win against Phoenix. Desi also led the team with 13 kills.
Honorable Mention goes to Viking Soccer’s Ray Brito Xilot. Ray scored two of the Viking’s 4 goals in Wednesday’s match against Creswell. Coach Londi Tomaro says Ray scored first with a penalty Kick that inevitably swung the momentum of the game in the Viking’s favor.
